The buzz
Real Brands reported that it had appointed Mr. Peter N. Christos as company’s new Chairman effective immediately with Jerry Pearring remaining the CEO of the company. Mr. Christos brings more than thirty years of corporate finance and investment banking experience, which also includes establishing, developing and funding microcap firms across many industries.
The CEO said that this Christos extensive experience on Wall Street will have a considerable impact on performance of Real Brands. In the last few months, he has made attempts to understand the operations of the company.
The expert view
Expressing his views, Mr. Christos said that there is abundant data to support the fact that the market of alternative beverages can be extremely rewarding. It is interesting to witness hat a small but highly motivated and focused beverage operations and sales team can make substantial progress within a short period of time. Having evaluated numerous early-stage firms, the new Chairman believes Real Brands only needs proper financing to scale up its operations.
The stock in focus
Apart from the beverage sector, the one sector that recorded strong gains on Monday is pharmaceuticals. However, the one stock that didn’t participate yesterday was Aquinox Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:AQXP). After registering gains of more than 2000% earlier in the month, the stock took a breather and declined 6.46% to close at $20.70 in yesterday’s trading session. The stock has been on investors’ radar after Aquinox reported positive mid-stage test data for AQX-1125, the only candidate currently in its product pipeline.
