Sirius XM Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI) recently announced the names of the nominees of for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, 2017. The announcement was made on the company’s newly launched 24-hour music talk-radio channel, VOLUME. Joel Peresman, the CEO of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, and Stevie Van Zandt, the inductee of the Hall of Fame in 2014, made the announcement, during Feedback, a morning talk show on the channel. It should be noted here that Sirius XM is the official radio partner of the foundation.

The induction event is scheduled to be held in April 2017, in Brooklyn and would be presented by Klipsch Audio. SIRI would be responsible for teaming up a special series of shows, which would build up to the actual event. The company has also decided to conduct special broadcasts, throughout the year, which would be dedicated to the past and present inductees of the hall. HBO and SIRI would serve as broadcast partners for the event, which has been held since 1986. Voting for the nominees has also begun and fans can view the nominees and vote on rockhall.com, until December 5, 2016.

Scott Greenstein, the CCO of Sirius XM, stated that the fans of the industry would want to know and debate about the list of nominees. He claimed that this provides an opportunity for their new channel, VOLUME, to become a go-to place for the people to learn about the latest happenings in the music industry and its importance. The CCO also expressed his excitement at having the opportunity to broadcast the news to its listeners.

SIRI is scheduled to announce its financial results for the 3Q2016 on October 27, 2016. The company earlier announced that it would hold a conference call, on the scheduled date, to discuss the results, at 8 am ET. Moreover, SIRI has decided to broadcast the call through its own website. Investors can listen to the call on investor.siriusxm.com.

Sirius XM Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI) declined by 0.24%, during the October 18 trading session, on a trade volume of 33.19 million, to close at $4.10 per share
