Olympic Steel, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZEUS), which happens to be one of the top national metals service centers has made the announcement regarding its new appointment where it brought onboard David Stires. The incoming top executive will be serving the company in the capacity of the General Manager and is expected to be hand-on on his duties effective Feb. 27, 2017.
In the recent past, Stires did a commendable job serving the capacity of the President for True Position Manufacturing Inc which is of course a Davenport’s manufacturing and fabrication company. The top official will be remembered for the great dedication he showcased in the overall management of the leading provider’s operations.
During his tenure of office, he took full responsibility in both losses and gains made by the company. Prior to working here, he worked as the Operations Manager helping Bettendorf facility make tremendous steps forward.
At Olympic Steel, David was at the forefront in guiding the company towards new horizons in terms of the cost-reductions strategies. The President, who is also the Chief Operating Officer, said John Mooney was quick to state that the newly appointed official played an important role which saw the company awarded the Caterpillar Bronze Certification in the Supplier Quality Excellence Program.

Before joining the steel industry, Stires served the United States as an Army officer for eight years. The hard work as well as dedication showcased by this leader saw him rise through the ranks to attain the position of captain. Asides from this, he received numerous commendations and one of them was the Bronze Star Medal.
Sires happens to be qualified in diverse aspects and it is important to bring forward the fact that he boasts of a Bachelor of Science Degree in economics which he obtained from United States Military Academy. He is well versed with knowledge on civil engineering. Expectations continue to surge over his new role at Olympic Steel. He is expected to impact the company in a huge way. He will be answerable to the Vice President in the Central region, Steve Reyes.
