SPYR Inc (OTCMKTS:SPYR) reported that Paul Thind will be the Managing Director of Games and App division. He will manage the monetization, development, acquisition and marketing of mobile games and apps for SPYR’s subsidiary firm, SPYR APPS, LLC. Mr. Thind is an industry expert who during his career has acquired extensive experience managing, launching, monetizing and marketing profitable mobile and web games for organizations of all sizes.
He has worked with big names including 20th Century Fox, developing the launch and commercialization plans for the Blackmoon Games, Family Guy game, the developer of Kongregate.com, Pocket Starships, Peanut Labs, Inmobi and Spil Games. With this new engagement, SPYR further moves forward in the direction of expanding into the mobile game and app development industry.
No respite For LookSmart, Ltd. (NASDAQ:LOOK)
LookSmart, Ltd. (NASDAQ:LOOK) posted strong gains on August 27 after the company confirmed its planned merger agreement with a maritime transportation entity and a spinoff plan of the current businesses. The new firm filed a registration statement for its common shares. However, the problem is that the company has not reported the details regarding when the acquisition will be closed and reverse split will occur. Due to lack of information, the investors are liquidating the stock. In yesterday’s trading session, the stock declined 5% to close the session at $0.970.
The up move after the acquisition news was exaggerated and warranted a technical correction. In April, Look announced a merger agreement with firm Pyxis Tankers, Inc. As per the agreement, the company will become a subsidiary unit of the transportation firm while all its businesses, existing liabilities and assets will be owned by subsidiary LookSmart Group, Inc.
