Sino Agro Food Inc (OTCBB:SIAF) has been making significant progress financially. The company recently signed Burnham Securities Inc. as its investment banker and financial advisor. Sino Agro deals with agriculture technology and growing organic food in China. The company also released details of FY2014 recently, showing improvement from the previous year. SIAF has been able to reach record revenues of $404.3 million. The resulting gross profit was $129.3 million and diluted earnings per share reaching $5.56. The revenue has registered a whopping 55% increase from last year, with profits registering a 23% change.
Sino Agro Food’s CEO, Solomon Lee, expressed his delight at the engagement with Burnham Securities. He also explained that the move is part of a financial investment plan that his company initiated in 2010. The plus side of this deal is that Burnham has several other client companies in China, which can help SIAF increase its shareholder value. Burnham securities also shared a similar level of delight, as the company sees this as an opportunity to work with a major agribusiness in China. Additionally, Burnham Securities sees SIAF as being strategically positioned in the world’s largest market for agribusiness.
The company had recently recorded a 24% increase in net-income, rising from about $74 million in the previous year to $92 million in 2014. SIAF can use this strong financial position to further increase the stockholders equity, which increased by 37% to reach $400 million from $299 million, this year. The diluted equity per share of SIAF also declined by 4%, which helped increase its share value. Mr. Lee’s investment plan, if executed as expected, would be able to improve these figures even further, giving the company the right opportunities to expand to other markets as well.
Sino Agro Food Inc (OTCBB:SIAF) closed at $12.22, increasing by 0.58% on April 14. The company has 18.07 million shares being traded in the market, with a 52-week range of $3.57-$12.30. The company is in a very healthy financial state and is set to improve on it further.
